This Part 1, Historic Structure Report contains architectural data for the Job Brooks House (Bldg. No. CON-1A) at Minute Man National Historical Park. The structure was acquired by the National Park Service on April 18, 1962. It was recommended that exploratory investigations be made to establish if an earlier house existed beneath its semi-Victorian exterior finishes. Approval was received to explore the structure to determine the full extent of the remaining early fabric. The findings of that work in August 1962 is the substance of this report. The report recommends that the eighteenth century portion of the structure be retained for exterior restoration and the rear portions be demolished. Minute Man National Historical Park protects 970 acres in and around the Massachusetts towns of Lexington, Lincoln, and Concord, commemorating the opening battle in the American Revolutionary War.
