This data was compiled to assist the National Park Service’s American Battlefield Protection Program (NPS ABPP) with their mission to promote the preservation of significant historic battlefields associated with wars on American soil. This GeoDatabase represents the polygon locations of the War of 1812 Battlefield boundaries and point locations of the Associated Historic Properties (AHPs) as of November 2020. This data has been confirmed for geographic and attribute information by the American Battlefield Protection Program and is organized in the NPS cultural resource spatial data transfer standards. Sites included in the data are eligible for Battlefield Land Acquisition Grants.
