Summary of Achievements: "The Bureau of Cultural and Historical Preservation, Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs, Palau Historical and Cultural Advisory Board, Society of Historians, and Aimeliik State government joined in a cooperative effort and hosted the 2-Day Historic Preservation Symposium. The symposium was held on April 27 & 28, 2016 at Aimeliik State Community Center. The two day symposium consisted of presentations and group works. The activity for the group work were discussion and responses on the three questions as follows: 1) What are some of our cultures and traditions that are important and useful to our lives which are disappearing that need to be revived and transferred to the youths?; 2) What are some ways to use as a connection or bridge to transfer our precious cultural and historical heritage to the youths?; and 3) How do we encourage the youths to value and have interest in our traditions and cultures?" Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Palau Historical Preservation Office, Bureau of Cultural and Historical Preservation, Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs, administered by the Pacific West Regional Office, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number P15AF00111).
