Summary of Achievements: "The nomination and registration of 10 sites per year is ambitious however the actual human resource needed to gather information and proper paper work is absent. The significant sites proposed (12 significant sites) for FY'08, '09, and '10 carefully evaluated by the Board. The Board conducted two official meeting on June 29, 2011 and September 26, 2012 to evaluate all the nominees for inclusion of significant sites in the Palau Register of Historic Places. ...On the second official meeting of the Board, on September 26, 212. The Board met to discuss the deferred sites from during their June meeting. After discussions, the Board approved only one site and deferred the remaining four sites as some members representing the states where the site are located were not present during the meeting." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Palau Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Palau Historic Preservation Office, Bureau of Arts and Culture, Ministry of Community & Cultural Affairs, administered by the Pacific West Regional Office, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number 70-11-31964).
