The Hotnon Ladriyu ['brick oven' in 'Chamorro-ized' Spanish], which was likely introduced by the Spanish who first colonized through the island, are spread throughout the island of Guam (twenty have been documented by archaeologists) and is used to cook food. Owners of the hotnon ladriyu were interviewed to learn about the traditions of how the food was cooked and what memories they had about the ovens. Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Guam State Historic Preservation Office, Department of Parks and Recreation, administered by the Pacific West Regional Office, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
