Impacts Upon an Island: World War II in Kosrae

2011. Impacts Upon an Island: World War II in Kosrae. Kosrae Historic Preservation Office, Kosrae Island Resource Management Authority

People living in Kosrae during World War II remember how their lives changed during that time, as the Japanese had taken control of their island and the Americans bombed Kosrae, leaving those native to Kosrae to deal with the clash of the two world powers occurring in their island home. Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the Kosrae Historic Preservation Office, Kosrae Island Resource Management Authority, administered by the Pacific West Regional Office, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
