Based on one collecting event in July 2020, it is not possible to make long-term comparisons to other seasons or other localities. But a review of results from collecting events in roughly comparable areas of the western U.S., it appears that the diversity of the insect fauna of GBNP was reduced in 2020, possibly due to extreme drought conditions. Repeated collections in subsequent years would be needed to confirm any trends.
