A summary of fire ecology activities and program information for the Park/network including fire effects plot workload, staffing, management objectives and monitoring results, and planning, fire monitoring, communications, and research. Also included are staff accomplishments/areas of focus, future program direction and other optional information (e.g. data analysis graphics or presentations, annual highlights, publications, program challenges, unique solutions to problems, collaboration, photographs of monitoring/fire activities, and suggestions on FFI). The Northern Great Plains (NGP) Fire Ecology program monitor changes in vegetation composition and structure from prescribed burns in ten National Park Service units throughout the Northern Great Plains. The NGP fire effects crew traveled to nine park units within the park group in 2020 from late April through November. NPS park units included Agate Fossil Beds N.M., Scotts Bluff N.M., Badlands N.P., Wind Cave N.P., Jewel Cave N.M., Mount Rushmore N.M., Devils Tower N.M., Theodore Roosevelt N.P., and Knife River Indian Villages N.H.S.
