The National Park Service (NPS) Northeast Coastal and Barrier Network (NCBN) created 16 shoreline change web mapping applications (web apps) for four of its coastal parks. These web apps help visualize the changing positions of our dynamic shorelines. As new shoreline data are collected and new shoreline change trends are reported, new web apps will be needed to visualize the data. This document describes how to create a shoreline change web mapping application that is consistent with the existing NCBN web apps, which are available from the NCBN Ocean Shoreline Position web page (NCBN, 2020), where they are referred to as “ocean shoreline change visualizers.” The process of creating the web apps can be thought of in three phases that use different software. This document is organized with the following three software phases in mind.
