Collections of CA Ringlets for Reintro to Presidio

Young J. Collections of CA Ringlets for Reintro to Presidio. Research Permit and Reporting System

Ringlet buterflies have been locally extinct from the Presidio for over ten years. After a lot of habitat restoration, causes of the species decline have been addressed. This small butterfly cannot recolonize the Presidio on it's own due to isolation by distance. The species is known to be common across the Marin headlands. This project seeks to collect individuals across different Marin headland sites and translocate/release at Presidio's Inspiration Point grasslands.
