The following standard operating procedure (SOP) outlines the procedure for shipping and tracking of laboratory samples collected during fixed-station and park-wide assessment sampling. The purpose of this SOP is to ensure that samples are correctly packed and shipped to the contracted analytical laboratory. Some of these procedures comply with methods suggested by EPA (2014); others have been modified to meet the requirements of the courier and the contracted analytical laboratory. Mention of couriers or labs by trade name does not constitute an endorsement by the NPS.
