ABSTRACT: Within the prominent ecotourism industry, the seasonal employment structure is often used. There is a vast existing body of literature relating to employee retention. However, there is very little mention of seasonal employee retention within the ecotourism industry. This study evaluates the factors that influence seasonal employee annual re-attraction in the U.S. National Park Service. Thirteen semistructured interviews were conducted to this end, the participants being front-line supervisors of national parks. The findings of this study are varied, illustrating the myriad of impacting factors for reattraction. The most commonly cited themes were desire for career opportunities, availability and quality of housing, and level of remoteness.
