Various butte summits within Lava Beds national Monument were surveyed for the occurrence of Hesperia uncas on June 27, 2019 and June 28, 2020. These dates were chosen as those most likely to result in positive findings. No adults or immature forms of Hesperia uncas were noted, although other butterfly species were present. Thus, the occurrence of Hesperia uncas within the Monument was not confirmed.
