This report describes inventory and monitoring for Mexican spotted owls on the Colorado Plateau initiated by the National Park Service in 1991. The first phase of the research focused on inventory and monitoring in parks located in Utah (e.g., Zion and Capitol Reef national parks, and Dinosaur National Monument). The next phase of this research focused on home range characteristics and habitat used by spotted owls located during the inventory. The final project phase was focused on the examination of natal dispersal behavior by juvenile spotted owls.
