Historic Structure Report: The Rum Shop

Lessem HI. 1957. Historic Structure Report: The Rum Shop. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service

This Historic Structure Report concerns the Rum Shop (Bldg. No. 6) at Salem Maritime National Historic Site. At the time of this report, the structure is used to house a concession operation. Architecturally, it coincides with the great period of Salem's foreign trade and thus externally furnishes authentic atmosphere to the site. In the future, the building is to be furnished and interpreted as typical waterfront commercial establishment.
