The firm of Beyer Blinder Belle, Architects & Planners LLP, was retained in early 2003 to update the Historic Structures Report (HSR) for Jacob Riis Park. The original HSR was completed in 1992 by Lane, Frenchman & Associates, Inc., and McGinley Hart & Associates, and comprised four volumes: Architectural Data, Appendix A ( cost estimates and additional data), Appendix B (drawings), and Appendix C (photographs). The purpose of this document is to supplement the original HSR by documenting work performed at Jacob Riis Park between 1992 and 2003. The format of this update to the HSR will follow that of the original document for clarity. The text of this document is intended to revise and extend the information contained in the original HSR, to more accurately reflect the existing conditions of the buildings, and the most current intentions of the NPS toward the future of Jacob Riis Park. In areas where no work has been undertaken since 1992, it may be assumed that the text of the original HSR still governs.
