This report details archeological investigations conducted at a number of historic sties within Package 123 on Virginius Island, within Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Beginning in May of 1992 and continuing through August of 1993, archeological fieldwork was conducted by the Division of Archeology, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. These investigations included excavations at three historic houses, and adjacent areas. Sites 46JF209, the West Rowhouse Site; 46JF211, the Schofield House Site; and 46JF212, the Wernwag House Site were examined during this study, as was Site 46JF210, which consists of extant features associated with Wernwag Street. A total of 22 units (generally measuring five feet square) were excavated at the West Rowhouse Site; 28 units were excavated adjacent to the Schofield House, and 19 units were excavated at the Wernwag House Site. In the vicinity of Wernwag Street, 15 units were excavated, roughly aligned into five trenches oriented across the former street alignment.
