The purpose of this project in inspecting an excavation for a septic tank which had encroached upon the ruins of the Market House just off Market Street, south of the West Chester and Potomac [Winchester and Potomac] Railroad, and to examine and record stratigraphic observations in a trench for a sewer line on Shenandoah Street opposite Houses 33 and 34.
