The following report represents a limited structural investigation of the Historic Water Plant Building 341, located in the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area, in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The survey was performed in October 2013, in preparation for a reroofing and rehabilitation project (part of a separate contract). The limited condition assessment focused on the structural steel framing, brick masonry bearing walls and existing windows. The report is presented in two main sections; masonry/window assessment and structural assessment with corresponding recommendations for each condition. The recommended repair work and cost estimate have been divided into high and low priority areas. High priority areas are those that are actively failing, and should be addressed in conjunction with the reroofing project. Low priority areas are those that are not actively failing or are aesthetic in nature, and can be addressed after the high priority issues have been resolved.
