The goal of the Illegal Timber Tracking: Eastern Black Walnut project is to create a database used in demonstrating the uniqueness of eastern black walnut (Juglans nigra) DNA profiles in court by representing the diversity of naturally occurring allele frequencies in the reference library. This genetic reference library needs to contain representative genotypes that reflect the diversity found in natural stands across the full geographic range of the species in order to maximize the connection
