Park Building 43, McCabe-Marmion Building. Special History Study

Chickering P. 1995. Park Building 43, McCabe-Marmion Building. Special History Study

For most of its first thirty years, HFNHP was interpreted in the context of the 1859 John Brown Raid and the ensuing Civil War. The Park's 1987 Resource Management Plan recognized a broader set of interpretative themes and expanded the park's time frame to the early twentieth century. This report draws on both earlier research and recently developed data to present a comprehensive, authoritative history of Building 43. In the event the Historic Structures Report for this building is redone, the information contained in the report could provide the basis for the History Section.
