Southeast Alaska Network water quality and streamflow monitoring SOP 11: Protocol Revision (FQ_A Creation), version 2.0
Goodwin D and Ziomek T. 2022. Southeast Alaska Network water quality and streamflow monitoring SOP 11: Protocol Revision (FQ_A Creation), version 2.0. NPS Southeast Alaska I&M Network, Juneau, Alaska.
This reference is standard operating procedure (SOP) 11 from the FQ-2022.1 protocol package, in effect as of the 2021 monitoring season. The water quality and streamflow monitoring protocol (FQ_A) may be revised as new knowledge, technology, and methods become available, balancing the benefits of advancement with the possibility of disrupting data continuity. Annual end-of-season assessments and formal scientific reviews both can prompt protocol modifications. Every effort will be made to ensure that a complete, certified protocol is available before the start of a new monitoring season. The SEAN Program Manager, Data Manager, and water quality Project Leader contribute to protocol revisions. All edits will be made with tracked changes and reviewed by multiple SEAN staff; the protocol revision history log must be completed concurrently. Peer review as required by the Inventory and Monitoring Division will be coordinated by the Program Manager. A revised FQ_A will receive a new identifier using the format detailed in the SEAN Data Management Plan.
