This reference is standard operating procedure (SOP) 12 from the FQ-2022.1 protocol package, in effect as of the 2021 monitoring season. The quality assurance plan documents standards used by the SEAN during the collection, processing, storage, analysis, and publication of water quality and streamflow monitoring data. Standards are described for site selection, field observations during monthly site maintenance visits, sensor data for water quality parameters, river discharge measurements made by the USGS, instrument service, data grading and correction, and data validation, certification, and publication. Data quality values, measurement quality objectives, quality assurance procedures, and quality control steps are provided. The responsibilities of staff involved in the water quality program are outlined.
