Fire effects monitoring data collected at Appomattox Court House National Historical Park in Virginia. Data were collected during spring and summer field seasons from 2008 to 2021 by the R1 Fire Effects Monitoring Crew based out of Shenandoah National Park. Data include Fire Monitoring Handbook (FMH) plots for grasslands (2008-2017) and forests (2010). Data collected from 30-m grassland transects include species richness and point intercept data used to obtain vegetation percent cover and height. Data collected from 50 x 20 m forest plots include tree inventory to obtain density and basal area, fuel load using Brown's method for inventorying surface fuels and biomass, seedling density, species richness, and point intercept data for vegetation cover and height. Photographs are taken at each plot during each monitoring event.
