Southeast Alaska Network oceanographic monitoring program annual reports and updates (OC_K) collection

Southeast Alaska I&M Network. 1993-2020. Southeast Alaska Network oceanographic monitoring program annual reports and updates (OC_K) collection. NPS Southeast Alaska I&M Network, Juneau, Alaska.

Collection of links to references to the Southeast Alaska Network oceanography annual reports and updates (deliverable OC_K). Summary of operations and annual data patterns for Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve’s marine waters in NPS technical report (2009 – 2012) or web article resource brief (starting in 2020) format. The oceanography monitoring program surveys 22 stations spanning Glacier Bay proper from just outside the mouth to the heads of the East and West Arms. Capturing a range of water depths along a gradient from tidewater glaciers and outwash streams to the Pacific Ocean source at Icy Strait, the program assesses seasonal, inter-annual, and long-term variability. Standard parameters are measured throughout the water column: temperature, salinity, pressure, photosynthetically active radiation, optical backscatterance (turbidity), dissolved oxygen, and chlorophyll-a fluorescence. Annual reports and updates offer a concise data overview through visualizations and interpretation of seasonal patterns while placing the sampling year in a historical context. Any methodological changes or protocol deviations are noted, as are extraordinary regional weather events impacting observed conditions. The details of OC_K are in SEAN protocol package OC-2014.1, SOP 14; the shift from annual technical reports to resource briefs is outlined in the Bower (2019) SOP amendment memo.
