South Florida/Caribbean Network. 2022. Standard Operating Procedure CI03: Removing Exotic Plants—Version 1.1. National Park Service
This SOP provides a summary of the steps to determine when and how exotic plant species are removed. These steps occur after the primary survey methods (see SOP CI02 Survey Methods—Version 2.0 [SFCN 2022]) and include collecting information on species that are unknown or new to a park, and an overview of methods for treating exotics in the field. NOTE: Herbicides are only to be applied by trained herbicide applicators and only in accordance with NPS guidelines, procedures, and safety requirements for use of herbicides. These requirements are not covered in this document. Nothing stated below is meant to replace or supersede NPS guidelines, procedures, and requirements for herbicide use.
