The National Park Service (NPS) proposes to construct a new access road from Father Capodanno into the north end of the park, and to increase the parking capacity for the Miller Field area. The Park would also like to consider constructing a paved bike/pedestrian trail which would connect the existing trail along Father Capodanno Boulevard to the WWII Memorial and the existing trail located along the east side of Sanchez Drive. The parking improvements include the addition of a new parking area adjacent to the newly proposed northern access road, reconstruction of Parking Lot E, reconstruction of Parking Lot F, and expansion of Parking Lot B to add a third row to the northeast. A pedestrian trail is also proposed at the east end of the Park.
