The Alaska Division of Forestry monitors spruce beetle populations at several locations throughout the ongoing outbreak. Two monitoring traps were installed in the Park: DENA-N and DENA-S. A total of 66 spruce beetles were collected in DENA-N and 5 total spruce beetles were collected in DENA-S. These numbers are consistent with other monitoring locations with low or endemic populations. Continued monitoring is recommended.
