Standard Operating Procedure 2.3.06 Monitoring Coastal Wetland Elevation User Manual and Technical Documentation—Version 2.0

Thorsdatter W , Montenegro K, Kozlowski A, Patterson J, Prats M. Standard Operating Procedure 2.3.06 Monitoring Coastal Wetland Elevation User Manual and Technical Documentation—Version 2.0. Inventory and Monitoring Division

This Standard Operating Procedure has been adapted from Montenegro et al (2021). The following standard operating procedure (SOP) outlines the procedures involved in entering rod surface elevation table data. All wetland elevation monitoring data are stored in the multi-network surface elevation table data management system managed and maintained by the National Park Service (NPS). The data management system is utilized by five NPS Inventory and Monitoring Networks along the Atlantic seaboard: the Northeast Coastal and Barrier Network (NCBN), the National Capital Region Network (NCRN), the Northeast Temperate Network (NETN), the Southeast Coast Network (SECN), and the South Florida/Caribbean Network (SFCN). The data system encompasses data from twenty national park units. It is the responsibility of the network data managers and wetland elevation protocol leads and staff to be thoroughly familiar with the standards and procedures within the protocol and companion SOPs, and ensure this SOP is updated to reflect any substantial changes made to that plan. All proposed changes to this SOP must be routed through the appropriate data managers for approval.
