The Integrated Impairment Index classifies dragonfly mercury concentrations into 5 categories (below-impairment, low, moderate, high, and severe). This index puts dragonfly mercury concentrations in the context of impairment benchmarks for other organisms. Impairment benchmarks are the concentrations above which an organism's health may be harmed. Oak Springs was classified as "moderate risk" of mercury impairment and Rattlesnake Springs was classified as "below-impairment."
