In accordance with guidelines set forth by the National Park Service Inventory & Monitoring Division, a quality assurance plan (QAP) has been created for use by the Northeast Temperate Network (NETN), Mid-Atlantic Network (MIDN) and Northeast Coastal and Barrier Network (NCBN) in the implementation of the Long-term Forest Monitoring Protocol (Comiskey et al. 2009 (MIDN/NCBN); Tierney et al. 2017 (NETN)). This QAP documents the standards, policies, and procedures used by NETN, MIDN and NCBN for activities related to the collection, processing, storage, analysis, and publication of monitoring data. This QAP was largely adapted and greatly benefited from the Eastern Rivers and Mountains QAP for Vegetation Monitoring (Perles et. al 2018). The policies and procedures documented in this QAP are consistent with the quality assurance plans for other monitoring activities conducted by the three networks and supplement National Inventory & Monitoring Division Quality Management Plan (DeVivo in preparation).
