The National Park Service Theme Category Thesaurus is an NPS theme keyword thesaurus originally used with the NPS Metadata Tools and Editor, which facilitated the creation of Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) compliant metadata by NPS spatial data authors. The thesaurus was created using a number keywords in use by the Library of Congress, supplemented by NPS-specific subject categories.
