Summary: "In Section 101 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, one of the responsibilities assigned to the State Historic Preservation Officers is the preparation and implementation of statewide historic preservation plans. The Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Preservation Planning set the following goals for preservation planning: I. Preservation planning establishes historic contexts; II. Preservation planning uses historic contexts to develop goals and priorities for the identification, evaluation, registration, and treatment of historic properties; and III. The results of preservation planning are made available for integration into the broader planning process." Project was funded in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the New Mexico State Historic Preservation Division, Office of Cultural Affairs, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants Division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior.
