A review of the organizational structure of the National Park Service from 1917 to 1985. The review looks at each Director's organizations and attempts to relate them to the attributes and thrusts of the eleven individuals who have been Director. The review was an outgrowth of an attempt to update the Washington Office list of "key" officials over the years for "Historical Listing of National Park Service Officials. Revised 1985." The publication has charts showing each structural change to the National Park Service's organization from 1917 to 1985. It also has charts showing the development of the Naturalist, Ranger, Historian line and the Administrative line.
