Using a modified technique of thermal infrared remote sensing, physical sampling, and data analysis (graphical and geostatistical) locating a small inflow to a lake was possible. Thermal infrared remote sensing detected radiant temperature anomalies on the surface of the lake. These anomalies then influenced the design of a sampling program for the collection of water quality parameters. This collected data set was then analyzed both graphically and geostatistically to verify the existence of water inflow at the locations of the radiant temperature anomalies.
