Fauna Series No. 2. The publication developed the idea of wilderness-use technique which had been suggested in Fauna Series No. 1 - A Preliminary Survey of Faunal Relations in National Parks (1933) as well as in reports on the actual progress which had been made in wildlife administration since the establishment of the NPS Wildlife Division in 1933/9134. The publication was intended to serve as a guide to park administrators in their efforts to accomplish the purposes for which the national parks system was established. It was hoped that the contents, which dealt with a subject on which there was insufficient published literature, would prove helpful to other persons or organizations interested in the development of similar wildlife management programs.
