Wildlife Management in the National Parks, Fauna No. 2 developed the idea of wilderness-use techniques which were first suggested in Fauna No. 1: A Preliminary Survey of Faunal Relations in National Parks. Fauna No. 2 reports on the actual progress which had been made in wildlife administration since the establishment of the NPS Wildlife Division. The purpose behind Wildlife Management in the National Parks, Fauna No. 2 was as a guide to park administrators in their efforts to accomplish the purposes for which the national parks system was established. It' was also intended to serve as a guide to other persons or organizations interested in the development of similar wildlife management programs. This publication is one of a series of handbooks exploring the management and study of fauna in the National Parks.
