ABSTRACT-A recently discovered assemblage of late Early Devonian psilophytes reported from a new unit, the Trout Valley formation, in the Traveler Mountain quadrangle area of north-central Maine. The flora includes the remains of Psilophy- ton princeps var. ornatum, Drepanophycus gaspianus, Sporogonites sp., Taeniocrada cf. T. decheniana, Aphyllopteris sp., Hostimella sp., and the problematic Prototaxites. This is the first occurrence in New England of such well defined mem- bers of the widespread Psilophyton Flora of the
