An index to proposals in Congress from 1847 -1951 to establish national areas. The index contains information on proposals to commemorate battlefields, historic sites, historic structures, and historic events. It also contains information on proposals for the establishment of units of the national park system. The index is divided in to three (3) sections - see Table of Contents below. Each section is further divided by state and then by historic resources, events, proposed park unit name within each state. The resource names are listed as well as the Congresses under which the various proposal were introduced and their accompanying bills.
