This full document contains construction documents for accessibility modifications and plaza repair to the Pennsylvania State Memorial at Vicksburg National Military Park. It contains narrative and drawings, outline specifications, and final Class B cost estimate. The final submittal addressed comments received from NPS. Critical design criteria include accessibility for the site based on ADA/ABAAS accessibility guidelines and compliance standards; preservation of the formal symmetry of the memorial, walkway, and site; utilization of historic construction materials and compatible contemporary material. Four alternatives were developed for consideration. The NPS selected a modified version of Alternative 3, which provided access to the plaza with a sloped entrance walkway from the parking area. Appendix B is the outline of the final Project Specifications describing the work for to the Pennsylvania State Memorial at Vicksburg National Military Park. It covers the work covered by the contract documents, contractor use of the site, conduct of operations, work restrictions, special construction requirements, and soils investigation report. Architectural and engineering services for the project were provided by Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc as sub consultant to Panamerican Consultants, Inc, under National Park Service Region 2 IDIQ Contract No. P16PC00097. The document also includes product data sheets and the cost estimate.
