At Joshua Tree National Park, a 10-station weather monitoring program was started in 2014, to supplement exisiting weather and air quality monitoring stations. The program provides needed atmospheric and ground temperature monitoring, to inform climate change research at the park. Stations utilize HOBO data loggers and are positioned to represent the park's three ecozones: Sonoran Desert, Transition, and Mojave Desert. The program is part of a multi-organization climate change response.
