The Annual Administrative Report and Workplan summarizes the activities of the National Park Service South Florida / Caribbean Network for FY22 and projected workplan for FY23. The South Florida/Caribbean Network (SFCN) supported 7 parks, utilized a federal staff of 13 with an IMD/WRD budget of $1,724,701 for FY22. The SFCN will continue to improve park management through greater reliance on scientific knowledge. The FY23 program of work will support the collection and organization of data and monitoring of the status and trends of selected natural resources in Network parks. Progress will continue on protocol reporting, review, and revision. This includes a science review of the Fish Protocol to collaboratively make formal updates with external partners (NOAA and FWC) and a targeted science review of the Spiny Lobster Protocol. Data Summary Reports, Resource Briefs, and Operational Reviews will continue to be developed and reviewed per national guidelines. Approximately 69% of FY23 funds will be spent on salary support for SFCN staff. Overall, 69% of the FY23 budget will be considered fixed in FY23.
