Intensive Level Survey of the Capitol View Neighborhood: Phase I

Dyer K. 2021. Intensive Level Survey of the Capitol View Neighborhood: Phase I. City of Oklahoma City, OK

From the Abstract: "The intensive-level survey of the Capitol View Neighborhood in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was conducted between December 2020-April 2021. The Capitol View Neighborhood is located northeast of the Oklahoma State Capitol, and the survey area is an excellent mixture of commercial, religious, educational, and residential buildings. The survey is part of a two-phase process with Phase I conducted during this time. The intent of Phase I was to Locate, identify, and record 550 buildings, sites, structures, objects, and districts within the survey boundary and document them at the minimum level. The intensive-level survey consists of the preparation of a Historic Preservation Resource Identification Form, survey maps, and photographs documenting the current condition of each resource. Geographic Information System (GIS) geodatabases were created to assist in the identification and location of historic resources to include addressing, building footprints, and various boundaries. The GIS geodatabases encompass the Phase I and Phase II survey boundaries. This report includes the findings of Phase I of the intensive-level survey with no supplemental historic context. The Phase I report includes but not limited to architectural styles found, properties individually eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, and any potential Historic Districts." Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the State Historic Preservation Office, Oklahoma Historical Society, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number P20AF00041).
