This brochure details historic structures, sites, and landmarks in Pierre and Fort Pierre. It provides directions and historical background for thirty-five properties. The brochure was designed to appeal to both residents and visitors and includes National Register sites and two National Historic Landmark sites. Project funding was provided in part by a Historic Preservation Fund grant to the South Dakota State Historical Society, administered by the State, Tribal, Local Plans and Grants division, National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior (grant number P21AF10630).
