Cowpens National Battlefield, Water Quality Monitoring, Fiscal Year 2022

Brinley Buckley E and Wells B. 2023. Cowpens National Battlefield, Water Quality Monitoring, Fiscal Year 2022. National Park Service

The Cumberland Piedmont Inventory and Monitoring Network began long-term monitoring water quality of Cowpens National Battlefield in fiscal year 2003. Sampling occurs quarterly in alternating years. Water quality is measured at four sites: Suck Creeks 2 and 3, Little Buck Creek, and Long Branch of Island Creek. Based upon program requirements and specific park concerns, parameters were chosen for long-term monitoring; including the field measures of water temperature, specific conductance, pH, and dissolved oxygen. Samples undergo laboratory analysis for Escherichia coli. This brief summarizes data collected from November 3, 2021 through August 3, 2022 (FY22).
