The goal of this project was to remove invasive Red-signal crayfish from the Merced River in Yosemite Valley. Park staff (Rob Grasso) led trainings to members of Trout Unlimited (led by David Gregory) volunteered time to set traps and remove crayfish. A one day training was held in April at Cascades Picnic Area and traps and bait distributed. Volunteers set traps over the course of the summer (May - September) but only reported catching a single crayfish in all locations with 84 hours of effort
