National Capital Region Network Inventory & Monitoring (NCRN I&M) forest monitoring data (2015-2023) shows that numbers of tree seedlings and small saplings are inadequate for forest regeneration in all 11 network parks: Antietam NB, Catoctin Mountain Park, Chesapeake & Ohio Canal NHP, George Washington Memorial Parkway, Harpers Ferry NHP, Manasass NBP, Monocacy NB, National Capital Parks - East, Prince William Forest Park, Rock Creek Park, and Wolf Trap NP for the Performing Arts.
