Geoindicators Scoping Report for Big Bend National Park

A joint Geologic Resources Inventory workshop and geoindicator’s scoping meeting for Big Bend National Park was held in Panther Junction, Texas on January 15-17, 2002. Participants included staff from Big Bend National Park, U.S. Geologic Survey (USGS), the National Park Service’s Geologic Resources Division (GRD), Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Natural Resource Conservation Service, and academic institutions (Sol Ross State University, Texas Tech, and University of Texas PB). The Geologic Resource Inventory meeting is summarized in a separate report and available from the Geologic Resources Division. This report summarizes the group’s geoindicators discussions and provides recommendations for physical studies to support resource management decisions, inventory and monitoring studies and research.
