This document is the withdrawal of designation report for the DELUGE (Firefighting Tug), formerly located on the Mississippi River in New Orleans, Louisiana. Put into service in 1923, the DELUGE was one of the few remaining fireboats over 50 years old at the time of her designation as a National Historic Landmark on June 30, 1989, and was considered the nation’s best-preserved example of an early-20th-century fireboat. The location and condition of the tug have been unknown since 2000.
