This Historic Structures Report (HSR) for the Josie Bassett Morris Ranch at Cub Creek, Dinosaur National Monument, is based on a review of historical photographs, NPS cultural resource reports, NPS assessment of effect compliance records, assorts secondary sources, and transcribed interviews with two of Morris's grandchildren who lived at the Cub Creek ranch from 1915 until 1925 and who visited frequently thereafter. The report follows a proposal to enhance the interpretive value of the ranch. The cabin, which represents the principle resource of the property, will be center of those efforts. The proposed treatment is preservation, focusing on stabilization and restoration of the exterior of the structure. The proposed treatment for the remaining secondary buildings and landscape features is stabilization. The HSR provides detailed, descriptive information and drawings for the cabin, chicken house, root cellar, footbridge, and milking shed.
